The Ohio State Vietnamese Student Association is only one of several chapters across the nation. Here are two organizations that help us cross borders and work with other VSAs, especially in achieving our common goals.
uNVSA: Union of North American Vietnamese Student Associations
uNVSA–a nonprofit, community-based organization–was founded in 2004 as a way for Vietnamese youth groups to network, share common resources, and collaborate. In their efforts to foster leadership within Vietnamese communities, uNVSA hosts an annual conference that brings together groups from across the nation. The conference challenges particpants to learn from others, as well as themselves, through various workshops, activities, and special presentations. OSUVSA will be attending this year’s conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Check out their website to learn more about them: http://www.unavsa.org/home.aspx
UVSA Midwest: Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of the Midwest
Similar to uNVSA, UVSA Midwest provides a network for VSA organizations located in the midwest. Ohio State VSA is proud to be a participating and active member. In fact, we’re planning to attend the VIA-1 conference (Vietnamese Acting as One) this year at Northwestern University. Visit their site at http://uvsamidwest.org/.
